The LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures video game posses several boss fights. In a boss fight, you fight an enemy who needs to be hit several times until he has got no hearts left.

Indiana Jones: the Original Adventures[]

Major Toht #1 (4 Hearts)[]

Since Toht is the first boss in the game, he's not really difficult. After watching a mercifully brief clip, you get started on the fight. I'll be blunt- he's a coward. Instead of fighting you himself, he sends out a bunch of jerk sherpas. You don't have to fight them, but they fight you, and it gets harder once they gang up on you. Anyway, don't try to punch Toht, at least in the beginning. This is because if you get too close to him, he will run away. So how the heck are you supposed to hurt the guy? Well, I'm going to tell you, that's why you're here. Anyway, do you see all of those bottles and chairs lying around? Pick on of them up, and carefully aim them at Toht. Be careful, though, if you get too close, he'll run, and if you take too long, the Sherpas will get you. Pitch your makeshift weapons, and nail Toht. He'll run, so you go to wherever he will end up. Grab an item, and toss. Grab an item, and toss. Then, you have a choice. Toht puts on a brave face and tries to hit you. In fact, he'll actually come to you. If you want to throw something else, go ahead, but if you're a punching type of guy, go up and smash a crater in is face!

Sherpa Gunner (4 Hearts)[]

After throwing a torch at a bar, Toht retreats, and his Sherpa gunner comes to kill you, with Toht's men still coming at you. It's my job to show you how to be bigger and better. The Sherpa gunner is behind the flaming desk in the middle room, and defeating him concept is similar to Toht Just grab a chair or table, and aim it. Once he's surrounded by the blue or green aiming thing, bean it at his fat head. Don't take too long, though, or he'll mow you down like grass. After you hit him once, repeat again three times. Pick up, aim, toss. One he has 1 heart left, he'll jump out of the flaming desk to fight head on. If you already have a barbie in hand, by all means, throw it. But if you're sick of aiming, go up and sock him one.

Major Toht #2 (3 Hearts)[]

After you've beaten the Sherpa Gunnee, Toht comes back for more. This fight should hopefully be easier since you know what to do. There are two ways to defeat your foe. The first is longer but still works. The paragraph above should tell you what to do, just chuck stuff at him, the only difference being he has a gun and has only three lives, not four (he begins to punch after you hit him twice). The other way is, in my opinion, better. After you've killed the Sherpa Gunner, he'll drop his machine gun. If you can, grab it at once. Once Toht runs out the door at you, blast him before he can hit you! If your aim is true, you should finish him off in one tap of the B button. Since he has three lives, and the machine gun shoots three bullets at a time, you'll have him beat in no time at all.

Giant Snake (5 Hearts)[]

If you keep reading my boss fight explanations, I'll say that Vogel is the easiest boss. This jerk comes in a close second. After you turn the keys, you'll pull him up. Don't let his size scare you, this guy's a pushover. Run to your left, where you will find two torches. Grab one, and run to about the center. After you carefully aim, pitch the torch (You can also jump down and punch him, but it won't do anything). It will take away 1 heart. Repeat 4 more times. The only thing I can add is that after you use the 2 available torches, just wait, more will appear in the same spots. Be careful, though, he spits poison just like bullets, speed, size, shape, and everything.

German Mechanic (3 Hearts)[]

The German mechanic looks easy enough, just fistfight with him. But that's a bad approach. He's invulnerable to your fists! But not anvils, though. Pick up the one off to the side, and run right up to his ugly face. He'll punch it, injuring himself. After this, he'll call a truck full of Nazi's for help. It's best to run by them, but if you can't, kill one, grab his pistol, and shoot the rest. Whether you have or haven't killed the Nazis, go to the plane. Press B to shoot explosives. Use these to destroy the Nazi's truck. Then, jump out and use the pieces to build another anvil. Then, get up in the boss' face. He'll hit it, hurting himself. He'll call more Nazi's. Do the same thing, shoot, build, carry to the boss.

Here's a very helpful tip: instead of just killing the Nazis by punching, jump in the airplane. It won't fly, but can it ever shoot!

Rene Belloq (5 hearts)[]

Belloq will be switching around the room in elevated places for most of the fight. First, you need to pick up a coffin and place it down on the green square. Marion then needs to get on it, jump up, and hop over to the cliff Belloq is at. Then, bash his lights out! He'll fight back with his fists, too. Then, pursue Belloq to an elevated area on your right. After building the platform, have one character climb a ladder. Then, the other must grab a nearby rope, raising the platform you just built. This allows the ladder character to leap on it, and jump to the cliff he's at. Then, bash his lights out! Belloq will run like the chicken he is and go foward to his last elevated area. Hop on a ledge, grab a bar, shift over, hop on the far ledge, and if you're not Indy, become him. Use his whip to grab the ledge above and jump on it. Hop up to where Belloq is. Then, bash his lights out! He'll hop down and make his last stand at where the Arc is lying. Follow suit, and, well, you know what to do by now! (x2) Congratulations, you've just beat the first movie!

Chatter Lal (6 Hearts)[]

Lal is easy enough to deal with. To start, punch him until he retreats onto the lava vents. Don't bother walking up to him as Lal will keep jumping around and around to keep you away from him. Instead, take an enemy's turban and pray at the Kali statues. This will activate the lava vent and damage Lal. Repeat the process until Lal is defeated.

Thuggee Slave Driver and Maharajah (5 and 3 Hearts)[]

Time for the first double boss fight in this whole saga. Give the Slave driver a good couple of punches and a cutscene will trigger, showing the appearence of the Maharajah. On elevated ground, he will throw a healing potion, restoring his health. Ignore the Slave Driver for now as the Maharajah will just keep healing him. See the dynamite in the chest? Pick it up, and throw it at Short Round. Fortunately, he has metal protecting him, so you only free him. Turn into him, and crawl up the short passage. Take a good shot at the Maharajah, and watch him run. After this, go to the right, where you'll see a tool holder. Destroy it for a wrench, grab it, jump onto a platform that needs fixing, and uh... fix it. Once you've done that, you can hop to the next platform, then to the Maharajah. Belt him, and turn your attention elsewhere. If you haven't earlier, turn into Willie or Indy, and push the train to the far track. Turn back to Short Round, and use the train as a bridge, hop on it, and to the other platform. Then, give the Maharajah a good kick.

Once the Maharajah is done, the Slave Drive will jump behind a conveyor belt and pick up large rocks to throw at you. To damage him, pick up some dynamite and wait until hes about to throw the rock, then throw the dynamite at the slave driver to injure him. Repeat this until he is defeated, ending this double boss battle.

Mola Ram (5 Hearts)[]

When you defeat the group of enemies that attack you, Mola will jump down and attack. Keep hitting him until he hypnotizes your character, then switch to another and punch him. Then lay the smack down on the bridge until you have the opportunity to pick up a Sword. Once you have one, clear out any baddies in your way and chuck it at one of the bridge supports. causing Mola to come down and fight again. Rinse and repeat and then once you destroy all four bridge supports, Mola will leap down with 1 heart left and a cutscene will trigger showing his defeat.

Kazim (6/14 Hearts)[]

Kazim and his brotherhood will start off by fistfighting you, but when he loses two hearts, Kazim will retreat on a boat (4 hearts) and flee across the water. Hop in one of the other boats and give chase. Ram him a few times and he'll retreat to the island in the middle of the water. Head to the island and take out two more hearts. Again, Kazim will retreat in his boat. Chase him down and ram him a few more times and he'll park by the big ship's propeller. Head on over, hop on his boat, give him a few more smacks and that's all she wrote for this boss.

Enemy Radio Operator (6 Hearts)[]

Probably the easiest and quickest boss in the entire game. To start off, just walk up to him and punch him a couple times, causing him to retreat up the stairs. Be mindful of the enemy reinforcements and the operator's gun as you climb up the stairs after him. Once the operator has 2 hearts left, the retreats to the right, becoming cornered. Chase after him and take him out, causing him to drop a key that he was holding, to continue the level.

Colonel Vogel #1 (6/8 Hearts)[]

At the beginning of the level, the only thing you can see to distinguish him is that he's wearing black. He and his pals will chase you some. Just run over and sock him twice. He'll flip some switch, and now you can see Vogel's hearts. He'll throw bottles and chairs at you, all you have to do is the same thing. Grab the bottles on the nearby tables, and wait till the blue or green pointer is on him, then hit z. He'll jump around, occasionally, and his cronies are chucking bombs at you, so not all of the bottles will hit. After you've nailed him four times, he'll come down, to punch and throw. You can still throw things at him, but the easier way is to thump him twice.

Colonel Vogel's tank (3 Hearts)[]

The colonel is back for a rematch and isn't messing around this time. He's got a pretty durable tank with him, and he's not gonna be coming out to fight. On top of that, he'll be launching a bazooka at you. Coax Vogel into destroying the two shiny wagons. Use the wagons jiggling remains to build two proximity mines. Now leap onto a ledge to push the crate off a cliff. Use the remains to build the final mine. Coax Vogel into driving near the three mines to take out his hearts, at which point he will retreat

Colonel Vogel #2 (9 Hearts)[]

Upon boarding the tank, First, there will be some soldiers to fight. After they are defeated, Vogel will climb out of his tank. Three hits should send him scurrying back to his little hidey-hole so his minions can do the dirty work for him. This time, there are twice as many Nazis, and they are being transported by truck to board the tank. But you're a tough guy, right? So once you've shown these guys who's boss, (get it?) Vogel pops his head out once again. Ignore the gun in his hand, if you're near the hole he comes out in, you should hit him three times in as many seconds. Take out 3 more hearts to make him retreat, then deal with his minions again. At this point, Vogel will come out for one last fight, allowing you to defeat the Colonel once and for all...at least until the next game.

Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues[]

Colonel Dovchenko #1 (3 Hearts)[]

I'll start by saying that I really don't know how to start. When you first meet Dovechenko, he will be throwing some bombs at you, but you can't fight him, yet. Since I deal with boss battles, I have a slight dilemma. I'll give you a brief overview. Basically, run up to him, twice. He'll run both times you reach him and jump down into a hole. Ah, now we can start the fight.

So, basically, he stands on this missile, which he's using as a giant flamethrower. Ignore his gun, and don't get too close to him, or he'll whip you. So anyway, go to some crates on the right, and destroy them. There are some buttons. Ignore them for now, and head for Dovechenko. Whip him down from his platform, and leave him on the ground, near the missile. The flames should disappear. Step on the buttons to start it up again. If you time it right, you should torch the tied up Dovechenko. Angry, he'll hop back up. Repeat the process. Whip, pull, buttons, whip pull, buttons. Congratulations, you've beaten the first boss of the game!

Crane Operator (7 Hearts)[]

While there are no hearts actually shown on the screen, each crane takes 3 hits to take out, and the operator just one, so we technically have six hearts. So once you start, look for the orange whip handle in the middle of the crane. Whip to it, and wait a minute. After you are lifted, jump to the right or the left rope, I recommend the left. Once you've done this, the arm will fall to the train, and uh... punch it. Once it breaks, it will drop a finger and move back. Repeat five more times, three, on one hand, two on another. Once you've destroyed the right's fingers, it will drop an orange whip handle. After you've destroyed the left, it will lay, broken. Have Mutt fix it, the bring the whip handle over, and place it on the hand. The hand will rise back up, and keep slamming down, trying to kill you. Once you get the chance, whip onto it. It will carry you very high. Use your height to leap onto the box with the man. Then, carefully walk to the back. You should drop into the box with the man and be able to take him out from there, ending this battle.

Cemetery Guard (9 Hearts)[]

Alright, so in your hands is the skull, obviously rightfully yours, because you stole it. And then, this jerk with funny face paint comes along and takes it. It's not rightfully his, because he stole it. Right? So, go on and chase the guy, until you get to the part with the spears coming from the ceiling. He'll run past, but don't you even think about trying. Instead, head out to where you started, and go to the left. Hop down the trapdoor, and avoid another round of spikes and scorpions (sorry, Mutt). As soon as you meet the guy, he'll scream, so head right back. Climb up the ladder, and follow the guy. Remember the scorpions you had to wade through to get to the trapdoor? The fight takes place right there. But our annoying little friend has the crystal skull, which repels animals. So as long as you stay close to him, you'll be safe. So, there's really not much left to say. Punch him, don't let him punch you. You have to hit him nine times, and he'll jump around, so this fight can be sort of annoying. But it's not hard, and after nine shots, he's had enough. He'll run away, and drop the skull. So you can pick it up, and reclaim what's rightfully yours. Right?

Mac (8 Hearts)[]

After defeating several waves of Agent Spalko's forces, she gets angry and sends in Mac to attack you. He spawns at the upper right corner of the screen with 2 minions. As you approach him, watch out for his gunfire and dodge it and take out his minions. Take away two hearts and he'll run a short distance. Repeat the process two more times and he'll become desperate. He jumps across the snake pit where you can't punch him. At this point, there are two ways you can finish him off. Grab a gun and shoot him twice, or use your whip to get him into the snake pit and then you have defeated mac.

Jungle Cutter Vehicle (5 Hearts)[]

Once you've taken out the other waves, Spalko will show up in her own vehicle. Don't bother trying to ram the Jungle Cutter with anything but a Jungle Cutter of your own as it will prove ineffective. Ram the sides and back of the enemy Jungle Cutter until its health is depleted.

Colonel Dovchenko #2 (16 Hearts)[]

it turns out Dovchenko survived the first encounter with you and is back for more and he has more hearts. He'll jump around a little bit, but taking out his four hearts shouldn't be too much of a problem. However, once you've depleted Dovchenko's health bar, the ants carry him off and form into a giant human shape. When this happens, ants while begin to spew out of the anthills around you. Several traffic cones can be found in the level, and all will be needed to defeat Dovechenko. Some are simply on the ground, waiting for you, but one needs to be pulled off of a Car Boat with a whip, and another must be grabbed off of a truck after its tailgate is repaired. Place a cone over each active anthill, and the ants will disperse, returning Dovchenko to you. Repeat your fight with him, and the ants carry him away again. This will also knock the traffic cones off of the anthills, so you'll need to put them back on. Place more traffic cones over the ant hills, and the ants will disperse again. Repeat one more time to defeat Dovchenko for good.

Ugha King (3 Hearts)[]

Once he's on your level, he's fairly easy to beat. He'll block your melee attacks with his spear, so tie him up with your whip like you did with Dovchenko in Hangar 51, and drag him onto a spike trap. Repeat this twice more, and you will have defeated him. Be careful though, as getting caught in the spikes yourself can set him free.

Agent Irina Spalko[]

Well, after three parts, you have reached Akator, and Spalko now has psychic powers. However, she has no hearts! This battle has three parts, so we'll split them up.

Part 1: In the throne room, Spalko has four large chunks of rock that she intends to smash you with. Dodge her attacks, then climb on to whichever rock she slammed down standing on the buttons will cause the rock to detonate, but be careful, as this opens holes in the floor. Repeat this for the remaining stones that Spalko has, and part one is a breeze.

Part 2: In the hydrogenerator room, Spalko has cut off your escape. She has four more rocks moving in a circle like a ferris wheel, and is using a mind-laser to attack you if you stand still long enough. First, use your whip to grapple an orange whip hook on the underside of one of the rocks. When another rock is below you, drop down onto it and step on a button. Then, use Marion to climb some rubble and jump onto the same rock that Indy is on. Like before, when the buttons are pressed, the rock is destroyed. Repeat this twice more, and the final rock will be brought lower so the characters can jump on. Step on the buttons, and it is destroyed.

Part 3: Spalko's given up on petty rocks, and is intent on smashing you into oblivion with metallic boulders. Grab a conveniently placed RPG, and when Spalko winds up to throw, open fire. Destroy enough of her boulders, and she'll be defeated for good.

Major Toht #3 (3 and 5 Hearts)[]

Part 1: If you're a math nerd, congrats, cause this fight was made just for you. There are all sorts of angles and geometry involved, with little of the whipping and punching necessary for most battles. So it starts out with good old Toht trying to burn you to death with a glorified magnifying glass. But if you keep moving, you should be fine. See the bar table close to you? Destroy it. Take a while to build, running around every once in a while to avoid being fried to a crisp. Once you've done that, push your creation to the other side of the platform. Once you've coaxed Toht into shining the light at you, run behind your creation. The light should bounce off and strike him. Now, he starts throwing dynamite. Run to the table made out of steel, and Toht will chuck explosives at you. These should destroy the table. After you've taken care of the Sherpas that pop down and start building. Push the thing to the other side of the platform, run to your original creation, and push that to the other side. Then, get Toht to send light your way. It will shaft off the original, bounce to the second, and hit him. Now, he'll shoot and send dynamite at you. Ignore it, it's not important anymore. Now, push both of the creations to the other side of their respective platforms, and get him to strike the second one. The light should bounce properly, and take out his third heart, but it isn't over yet...

Part 2: After losing his three hearts, Toht drops the glass, brings out his machine gun, and drops down to the ground to fight head on. Shouldn't be difficult: just avoid his gunfire, and keep punching the devious major until he loses all of his hearts and is down for good.

Desert Limo (5 Hearts)[]

The Nazi leadership gets into a bit of a panic at your progress and decides to take off from the scene in their desert limo. First, fight your way through the hordes of trucks and jeeps until the cargo truck carrying the Ark shows up. Ram it with another truck once, and it will got to a specific place where the driver will disappear. Then climb in, and the Desert Limo with Belloq and Toht inside will appear. Only the cargo truck can damage the limo, and all other trucks will despawn, so track down the limo and ram it five times.

Rene Belloq #2[]

Okay, so Belloq and his goons aren't letting the Ark go so easily, and want to take a peek inside. It turns out to be a... disco ball? Well, regardless of how musical the Wrath of God is, it's still terrifying. Belloq dances so fast that he turns into a lightning monster, and starts hurling Nazis around like confetti. Also, he has no hearts! Here's how you beat him.

While the two steps to beat Belloq are in no particular order, we'll start with the section to your right. Head. over there, while using the trash cans to protect you from the electricity (thank you, Colonel Dietrich). Once you're out of range of the attacks, have Marion jump to a ledge and grab the object sitting there. Carry it over to another wall on that side of the level, and place it down. While you were doing that, you may have noticed two whip handles on the wall. Pull on them with your whip, and two platforms open, allowing you to climb up two the second object. Bring it down and place it with the first object, and an electrical charge breaks a box with a dish on top. Rebuild the box with the dish facing Belloq, and deflect his power into the cliff face that he's holding. Wham! Belloq falls on his face. That's step one. Grab some more trash cans, and proceed to the other side of the level. Have Marion jump up to another elevated area, and push down a large box. It breaks, and build the dish and push handle on the railcar nearby. Push it off the track, and it will roll into a position to deflect the power into Belloq's other hand. This makes him fall down again, and now the generator in front of him is charged. Grab yourself a trash can one more time, and sneak behind the. generator. Step on the buttons, and the dish reflects the energy back directly. Bye, bye, Belloq!

Lao Che's Car (5 Hearts)[]

Given its tough armor, ramming the car into walls will cause more damage to it that just pushing it with your car. Do this until its health is gone. Vehicles with explosives are also effective.

Maharajah #2 (1 Heart)[]

Remember that kid back in the first game that had another boss with him? Well, now he's back for more! But without a boss to back him up and only one heart, head-on will not be an option for him ever. Approach him and he'll retreat right at the top left elevated platform. Go to the left side of the screen and build your way up to the Maharajah's first position. When you're about to strike him, he'll run off and head to the right side, standing atop a platform. Spend the rest of the level gathering up three gears and placing them so that the platform will be above a large fire, which will burn the Maharajah and take away his heart, ending this battle.

Mola Ram and Kali Statue[]

So you think you've got Mola Ram cornered, right? WRONG! His Kali statue survives, and he's back on top to destroy you. Also, he has no hearts (a recurring theme for the supernatural final bosses). The Maharajah and Willie are hiding, so it's up to you and Short Round.

So, for such a fearsome statue, there's one glaring weakness: A flaming hole in its foot. And there are some water bottles randomly on the ground. Use the bottles to extinguish the fire. Either get close, or keep your aim true, when Kali takes a step, it can be difficult. When the fire goes out, Kali freezes. Don't wait too long to act, though, as Kali can recover. Short Round can crawl through the extinguished hole up the statue to get to Mola Ram. When you get there, kick him in the face! He'll go flying, and an orange whip handle will appear on one of Kali's arms. Use Indy to pull it, and the arm crumbles. This will give Mola Ram and Kali a second wind, but don't worry, it's just rinse and repeat to disable them. Be careful, though, as the more limbs that she loses, the more attacks Kali will unleash, with more frequency. Eventually, though, all the arms are gone, and there's an orange whip handle on Kali's head. Pull it, and Mola Ram and his god are history!

Panama Hat Man (3 Hearts)[]

Once you've dealt with the sailor henchmen, destroy some crates sitting on the deck. Build the pieces into a turret. After this, use your whip to grab a crate hanging from the ship's crane arm. Build the pieces into a harpoon, and use the remaining pieces to build the buttons for it. The harpoon will rupture a pipe next to Panama Hat Man, and he'll retreat to another platform. The storm will wash more crates on board for you, as well as open a door for access to another crate. Destroy the two green barrels, and build the pieces into placement sections. Then, use the whip to pull the crate from inside the ship, and destroy what remains of it. Pick up the pipe and place it on the green circles. Once you've done that, turn the switch to the left of the pipe. A horn blares and this knocks Panama Hat Man overboard. So it's over, right?

Not yet.

Panama Hat Man is washed back on board, along with some crates. He lands on top of a stack of crates, and grabs some dynamite from inside one of them. To counter this, first you dispose of his henchmen, then destroy the green and gray barrels on deck. Build the green pieces, then smash the big crate and place the smaller crate inside it on the green platform. Build the pieces and turn the key to move the ship's crane. Use Indy's whip to climb up to Panama Hat Man, and give him a knuckle sandwich!

Colonel Vogel's tank (5 Hearts)[]

Don't worry, the evil colonel won't be appearing more than once in this game, unlike all the times he appeared in the first. After fighting through the other vehicles, the tank comes into play at the last part of the level. In this section of the level, small vehicles with tank treads appear. Grab one. Don't bother ramming the tank, you won't hurt it. Instead, get in front of it with your mini-tank, and drop a mine in front of the big tank! These mines will damage the tank, and so long as you stay out of it's firing line, it can't hurt you. Drop mines until the tank loses all of its health, sending the Colonel falling to his death like he did in the original game (and movie).

Interesting fact: in my copy of the game, Vogel has his desert uniform on in the cutscenes of the level, despite not having it on as a playable character or even in the cutscene for the end of the previous level!

Walter Donovan (3 Hearts)[]

Part 1: Donovan stands on an elevated area on the left side of the Word of God area with three hearts. Watch out for his gun, he can do some damage. Use the whip handle to trigger spikes on his area, and he'll retreat to the elevated area on the right. Repeat your action from before to take out his second heart, and he'll retreat for part 2.

Part 2: In the Chamber of Grails, Donavan chooses poorly... or does he? Sure, he ages, but he also gains cool cyclone powers, which seems like a good trade-off. Still, you need to put this guy down. First, dodge his cyclones. That's a no-brainer. Then, maneuver Indy around Donavan to where two shelves are on either side of the chamber. Use your whip to pull them down, and let Donavan suck up the grails and shields with his tornados. Then, use Sallah to dig up some metal chests buried in the ground, and let Donavan suck those up too. After that, grab a conveniently placed RPG and take aim. Destroying the metal objects will hurt Donavan. When they're all gone, it's lights out for him.
